The Tulip Lotus Clinic

As a nurse in ITU (Intensive Care) in the NHS for over 40 years, Jude Grice is a highly qualified colon hydrotherapist and acupuncture practitioner.

Her interest in an alternative approach to health care came following her own experience with cancer. Jude loves nursing in ITU and still works a couple of shifts each month. She is committed to holistic and individualised care for all her patients.

Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon cleansing/ colon hydrotherapy / colonic irrigation has been carried out for thousands of years – records from ancient Egypt, traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. Few of us eat as healthily as we should or take enough exercise, and inevitably, this upsets the natural way our digestive system works. This can lead to a range of negative health effects from digestion and bowel problems to lethargy and headaches. As well as helping with symptoms, colonics can also give a sensation of overall well-being and they’re often the inspiration for a healthier diet and lifestyle all round.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine stainless steel needles into the skin. It has been used in China for over 2,000 years and increasingly in Western medicine since the 1970s. Acupuncture can be used for a wide range of health problems and to reduce pain. It stimulates the body to produce endorphins and oxytocin, its own pain and stress relieving chemicals. It may promote sleep by stimulating the release of melatonin and also encourage a sense of well-being by stimulating the release of serotonin. It also stimulates nerve fibres to block out pain signals and helps to reduce the sensitivity of tender points in the body.

Tulip Lotus Clinic

I moved to the the Tulip Lotus Clinic in May 2023. The clinic is within ‘The Hide” at the converted hay barn that is now Lanteague Studios (a collective of small local businesses), 2 minutes from the main A30. Lanteague also has a bakery, 2 cafes, a florist etc. The clinic is purpose built. As such,  it provides a private, nurturing environment for both acupuncture and colon hydrotherapy. We are on the ground floor with wheelchair access and our own disabled toilet and changing room. There is ample tarmacked parking.
